Ken White, REALTOR®, is a Southern California native and a real estate professional since 1998. He earned his real estate sales license in 1999. His diverse background in real estate and other industries coupled with his unique global and cultural journeys allow him to serve his clients from a wealth of personal and professional experiences. Ken was born and raised in Southern California. After high school he joined the Marines where he spent most of his time in the Marine Corps overseas. Stops included Okinawa, Japan; Rome, Italy; and El Salvador, guarding the U.S. Diplomatic Mission. Ken received three meritorious promotions and after getting his sergeant stripes and serving the country, Ken was honorably discharged. Once his military service concluded, Ken became part owner of a jewelry store in Laguna Hills, California. After 11 years as the local jeweler, he sought an opportunity to help his clients in a more profound way and became a mortgage loan officer. His first taste of the real estate industry as a loan officer was rewarding, and in 1999 Ken secured his California real estate sales license to provide an even greater level of client care. Over the course of his real estate career, Ken has served in various capacities in real estate and mortgage banking. His work with one group of investors was overseeing the management of 3 separate apartment buildings and communities. He has also served as project manager of an apartment conversion to condominiums. Another group recruited Ken to oversee the setting of prices and selling of their inventory of homes across the country. These experiences across his real estate career allow him to help his clients handle any situation that comes their way. In 2012 Ken was recruited by a Canadian group to act as their in-country buyer of rough diamonds in Sierra Leone. Ken has previous experience as a rough diamond buyer in West Africa, exporting and selling in Antwerp, Belgium, and Johannesburg, South Africa. While living in a village in Sierra Leone, Ken came to truly understand the meaning of community. Knowing that most of the villagers could only afford to eat only one meal a day, Ken founded the Jaiama Nimikor Community Farm. This was a pilot program to turn wild swamps into rice farms. Ken’s farm was the biggest employer in the village area, training over 75 locals while paying them a wage and feeding them a daily meal on the farm. His time in Africa transformed his heart to have even more compassion for those less fortunate. After 2 ½ years of village life Ken returned to America with a more empathetic approach to life and serving others. Ken moved to the desert in 2015 and returned to practicing real estate in 2016. He loves everything about the Coachella Valley, from the beautiful climate to the unique communities in which he gets to live, work, and play. He also enjoys meeting desert dwellers and visitors to the area and sharing his enthusiasm and passion for desert life while helping them accomplish their real estate goals. If you are ready to start exploring your real estate options, let Ken help you discover that diamond in the rough, or deliver the perfect buyers for your current home.
