Maru joined Bennion Deville Homes as a Production and Advertising Specialist in 2018. A native of Mexico City, she earned her bachelor’s degree in graphic design from that city’s Intercontinental University and worked as a graphic designer at Editorial Televisa.
After marrying an American citizen, Maru moved to California, working at Starcrest Products of California as a supervisor in the Art Department and earning a Management Certification.
Maru started her valley tenure with Desert Publications, publishers of Palm Springs Life Magazine where she spent 11 years, after which she went to The Desert Sun Media Group as a Creative Services Manager.
Maru has led the design and production for various publications including The Desert Guide, Houston Visitors Guide and Meeting Planner, Newport Beach Visitors Guide, Pebble Beach the Magazine, Guestlife series, Desert Magazine, Palm Springs Chamber City Guide, and Rancho Mirage City Guide, among others.
Maru was the recipient of awards while at Palm Springs Life and The Desert Sun Media Group: Gold Ink Award 2015, Pebble Beach Magazine, Best Ancilliary Publication;
80th Annual INMA Awards, First Place, The Desert Sun; Best New Print Product, 2017 ADDY awards, Desert Ad Fed Competition, Gold Award Newspaper Advertising Campaign for El Paseo Jewelers.
With two teenagers at home and busy schedules, her free time and hobbies revolve around her family. She enjoys watching them thrive in different areas, that range from sports to art. She also enjoys crafts, cake decorating, photography, illustration, and learning about new design trends and technologies.
